Globe Gazette "No Need to Worry About These Kids" |
![]() |
We spend a lot of time tearing out our hair over our children.
Let me assure you, our future is in good hands if the Mason City High School Concert Choir is any indication.
They have been lively, polite and friendly ambassadors of Iowa.
New Yorkers commented over and over on their mature behavior. The best example may have come when the stagehands at Lincoln Center went out of their way to help our choir because they "were pros."
What a fine time with fine kids. I can't think of a more energizing and encouragingly way to spend six days.
My thanks to all those who made my trip so much fun: choir director Joel Everest; his wife, Rachel; Sarah Bruce; Beth Willer; and Superintendent Keith Sersland and his wife, Jane.
It was a great time.
